A great selection, Terry. I was bowled over by "We need to talk about Kevin" years ago but I wouldn't want to see the film. "Tales Of Empire" sounds like a good read.
ReplyDeleteThe film is sooo good, but I understand what you mean!! Highly recommend T of E! xx
DeleteThank you x
ReplyDeleteLionel Shriver's "The Mandibles" is superb - probably the most frightening dystopian novel I've read. No Zombies, no plagues, no aliens, no asteroids. Just the collapse of the Western economies and the chaos that follows. It feels so real that one is chilled when reading - and teh wonderful humour throughout makes it no less so.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks, Antoine - it is now on my Kindle!
